Best Native Ad Networks for Advertisers: Platforms and DSPs

Native ad networks AdsCompass, MGID, Taboola and Outbrain, plus the DSP StackAdapt, are the top native advertising platforms I would use to buy, run and manage native campaigns in 2026. AdsCompass asks the least to start among the five, counting each platform's minimum or recommended first-test budget: a $50 deposit, with native sold on CPM from a $0.1 floor. Entry terms are current as of October 2026.

Top Native Ad Networks List by Entry Cost

From a $50 deposit to about $5,000 a month, entry costs on this native ad networks list span the AdsCompass minimum and the budget StackAdapt says most teams reach.

Native ad platformEntry terms as of October 2026Publisher side
AdsCompass$50 deposit, native on CPM from a $0.1 floorPush, in-page, native, banner and video, no traffic floor
MGID$100 deposit and $650 recommended, prepaid CPC by card or wireFrom 5,000 unique daily visitors
Taboola (Realize)No hard floor, ten times the CPA goal or $50 a day recommendedWeb script and Mobile SDK 4
Outbrain (Teads)20 USD, EUR or GBP a day, CPC paid by card or prepaid wireAny scale under Publisher Guidelines, $50 payout minimum
StackAdaptNo minimum spend, self-serve after approval, about $5,000 a month typicalNone, buy side only

Fifty dollars on AdsCompass buys the cheapest real test here, judged by each platform's own minimum or recommended budget for a first campaign. At the $0.1 native floor, that deposit covers up to 500,000 impressions. Live bids in a busy GEO run higher, because a floor only marks where bidding opens. Taboola's rule of ten times the CPA goal turns a $25 CPA into $250 a day, or $1,750 over a test week. Outbrain's $20 daily floor, held for the week its help center advises, comes to $140. MGID recommends $650. I judge the best native ads network by how much source-level data a small deposit buys.

Which Native Ad Network Fits Your Budget and Traffic

Under $100 the starting network is AdsCompass, at $650 on CPC it is MGID, and native beside CTV, display and email points to StackAdapt. Budget, pricing model and traffic size decide the other four situations in the table.

Your situationWhere to start and why
Test budget under $100AdsCompass, where $50 opens the account and native bids start at $0.1 CPM
Affiliate offer with postback trackingAdsCompass, for per-source bids and tracker partners such as Voluum
$650 to spend and a preference for CPCMGID, where $650 is the recommended start and switches on CPA Tune
Known CPA goal and daily conversionsTaboola, which sizes the daily budget at ten times that CPA goal
A week of CPC testing at a low daily floorOutbrain, with a $20 daily minimum and at least a week advised for a first run
Native alongside CTV, display and emailStackAdapt, the DSP here, with no minimum spend and approval-based self-serve access
Site under 5,000 daily visitorsAdsCompass or Outbrain, since neither publishes a traffic minimum for publishers

AdsCompass appears in three rows for three reasons: the $50 entry, per-source bids for tracked affiliate offers and no publisher traffic minimum.

How the AdsCompass Native Ads Network Prices Traffic

CPM pricing with a $0.1 floor per thousand impressions is how AdsCompass sells native ads. Pop, push and in-page push stay on CPC for self-serve buyers. AdsCompass has run since 2013, joined the IAB in 2019 and serves 8 billion impressions and 60 million clicks a day across eight formats and 200+ GEOs. Prices come out of an auction, so the floor says little about your country. The Traffic Calculator does. It shows average bids by GEO and format from completed auctions and opens after free registration, with no deposit.

Targeting filters on AdsCompass

Nine targeting filters shape who sees an AdsCompass native ad: GEO down to city, device and OS version, browser and version, ISP or mobile carrier, browser language, connection type, retargeting audiences, IPv6 exclusion and proxy exclusion. Those two exclusions filter out part of the automated traffic before you pay for it, on top of the AdsCompass anti-fraud platform, which runs a full analysis of incoming traffic. Retargeting audiences come from the AdsCompass SST pixel or an S2S postback. They split users by whether they took an action on your site.

Source ID bidding and CPA Goal

Source ID bidding is the first tool to switch on, because it lets one AdsCompass campaign hold a different bid for every traffic source. AdsCompass added the feature in October 2024. You can enter sources one by one or as a bulk list, and change prices straight from the source report. A placement converting at half your target rate does not need cutting: lower its bid and keep the volume.

native ad platform

CPA Goal, added in September 2026, only lists sources for review. It weighs volume (clicks, impressions, spend) against results (conversions, ROI, conversion rate, EPC, revenue) and collects the matches into a separate list. Neither tool rebids toward a target CPA. Bid decisions on AdsCompass stay with you, and CPA Goal needs conversion tracking set up in the Tracker section first. On a native campaign, each of those per-source bids is a CPM price, so comparing AdsCompass with a CPC network takes one extra calculation.

What a Native Click Costs on CPM and CPC

Effective CPC equals the CPM bid divided by clicks per thousand impressions, which puts AdsCompass CPM bids on the same scale as CPC prices at MGID and Outbrain. At the $0.1 floor and a 1% click-through rate, a click costs $0.01. Drop the CTR to 0.1% and the same bid costs $0.10 per click, ten times more.

CPM bidEffective cost per click at three CTR levels
$0.10$0.100 at 0.1% CTR, $0.033 at 0.3% and $0.010 at 1%
$0.50$0.500 at 0.1% CTR, $0.167 at 0.3% and $0.050 at 1%
$1.00$1.000 at 0.1% CTR, $0.333 at 0.3% and $0.100 at 1%

On CPM, CTR moves the click price as much as the bid does. Double the click-through rate and the cost per click halves without touching the bid, so creative testing works as a direct cost lever on AdsCompass. On a CPC network such as MGID, a click costs what you bid, whatever the CTR. The CTR that feeds this math comes from your own first campaign on AdsCompass.

How to Buy Native Ads Traffic on AdsCompass

Register for free and top up $50 to buy native ads traffic on AdsCompass, then let the first source reports guide every bid change.

  1. Register. Create an account at AdsCompass with your email and a password, then confirm the email.
  2. Price your GEO. Open the Traffic Calculator and note the average native bid for your country before writing a headline.
  3. Top up. Pay $50 or more by Capitalist, crypto, Stripe card, PayPal, Paxum or WebMoney; section 6.4.3 of the AdsCompass Terms allows a processing fee.
  4. Connect tracking. Set up conversions in the Tracker section or through a partner tracker such as CPV Lab or PeerClick.
  5. Launch and prune. Start near the Traffic Calculator's average bid.

Three clauses in the AdsCompass Terms, last updated 30 September 2026, matter more than the $50 minimum. Section 6.4.2 gives you 3 calendar days from a report to dispute its statistics. Under section 6.5, advertisers cannot recalculate charges or withhold payment, and the remedy is a list of unsuitable sources for the blocklist. Unspent balance can come back under section 10 only on a written request with reasons, sent from the registration email within 180 days of payment, and never after a breach of the Terms. AdsCompass deducts operational expenses and a 3% to 10% fee, at least $10. Bonus credit never comes back.

Read source reports daily: the dispute window is 3 days, and AdsCompass can block an account left idle for more than 180 days under section 15.4. Those daily reports are where affiliate buyers decide which sources keep their bids.

Best Native Ads Platform for Affiliate Marketing

AdsCompass is the best native ads platform for affiliate marketing among these five on entry cost, and it adds per-source bids, automatic source blocking and tracker partnerships to that $50 start. Affiliate profit depends on individual placements more than on reach. The same self-serve account holds retargeting through the AdsCompass SST pixel or an S2S postback, plus the payment rails affiliates use: Capitalist, Paxum and crypto. AdsCompass partnered with the trackers CPV Lab in March 2026 and PeerClick in November 2024.

The learning phase costs more at MGID and Taboola. MGID bills only by the click and does not sell on a CPA model, although its CPA Tune tool becomes available at the recommended $650 budget. Taboola sizes budgets at ten times the CPA goal, aiming for at least ten conversions a day. On a $30 payout, that means $300 daily before bidding learns anything.

Native Ad Network Budgets at MGID, Taboola and Outbrain

MGID, Taboola and Outbrain are native advertising content platforms that set the entry bar three ways: a deposit, a CPA-linked daily budget and a daily floor. All three sell placements inside recommendation widgets on publisher pages.

MGID

MGID asks for a $100 minimum deposit and recommends at least $650, the budget at which its CPA Tune tool switches on (MGID pricing and billing). Billing is prepaid CPC. You top up by card, with optional auto top-ups, or by wire through a manager's invoice. As a native advertising network, MGID claims 850M+ monthly unique visitors on 32K+ sites in 200+ countries. Volume rarely limits a test there. The deposit does.

Taboola

Ten times your CPA goal, or at least $50 a day, is the daily budget Taboola recommends, so that its algorithm reaches at least ten conversions a day (Taboola's Realize help center, updated 23 July 2026). A 2021 SmartyAds roundup still quotes $10 a day for Taboola, and the current help center does not. Realize is the performance platform Taboola launched in February 2025, when it opened display inventory next to the native widgets. Bidding runs on CPC or CPM. Strategies cover Fixed Bid, Enhanced CPC and Maximize Conversions with an optional target CPA. One line in the help text surprised me: in some cases, actual spend on a daily budget can reach double the cap you set.

Outbrain (Teads)

Outbrain sets its floor at 20 a day in USD, EUR or GBP, and every click bills on CPC (help center). Outbrain bought Teads on 3 February 2025 for roughly $900 million. On 9 June 2025 it renamed itself Teads, while the advertiser product kept the name Outbrain Direct Response by Teads. Two billing rules catch new buyers. Card payments carry a processing fee of about 3%, or 4% for clients in Brazil. Clicks on ads served before the budget cap can still bill up to 20% above it.

Run an Outbrain campaign for at least a week, as the help center advises, and leave CPC cuts until the discovery period of roughly two weeks has passed.

Bid Management Tools on Each Native Ad Platform

Bid control on each native ad platform ranges from manual CPM bids per traffic source on AdsCompass to automated conversion bidding on Taboola and Outbrain.

PlatformBid and optimization tools in its own documentation
AdsCompassManual CPM bids per source ID and CPA Goal source lists
MGIDPrepaid CPC bids, with the CPA Tune tool switching on at a $650 budget
TaboolaFixed Bid, Enhanced CPC and Maximize Conversions, with an optional target CPA on top
OutbrainCPC bids plus a Conversion Bid Strategy: Semi Manual, Max Conversions, Target CPA or Target ROAS
StackAdaptKeyword Rule Targeting and cost-per-engagement bidding for native inside one DSP account

Buyers who want to steer each placement by hand get per-source CPM bids on AdsCompass, while buyers who prefer an algorithm get Maximize Conversions on Taboola or Target CPA on Outbrain. StackAdapt is the only DSP among the five, so its tools work across outside exchanges rather than one publisher network.

Native Ad Network vs Programmatic Native Advertising Platform

Inventory is the difference: native ad networks sell placements on their own publishers' sites, while a programmatic native advertising platform, usually a DSP, bids for native impressions on many exchanges through one interface. Choose a network for a cheap, controllable test. A DSP earns its place when native has to run beside CTV, display, audio and email under one plan. For a $50 test, the best native advertising platform on this list is a network such as AdsCompass, where that sum opens the account and funds the first campaign.

native advertising platform

StackAdapt is the DSP on this list, with no minimum spend and self-serve accounts that open after an application and approval. Card payment works on the Basic plan. The StackAdapt plans page says most teams hit their stride around $5,000 a month. StackAdapt native formats run from in-feed and content recommendation units to native video, outstream, in-ad and mobile in-app placements, with cost-per-engagement bidding available.

AdsCompass sits between the two models. Self-serve buyers get the network route. Companies that need a programmatic link plug into AdsCompass on the SSP or DSP side, through an oRTB, XML or JSON integration.

What is a native advertising platform?

A native advertising platform is software that buys or sells native advertising: units built from parts such as a headline, an image and a brand name, which the publisher's own template renders to match the page around them. Networks and DSPs both fit that description and differ only in whose inventory they touch and who sets the price. A separate reference on native ads covers the three IAB format types and the FTC and DSA labeling rules.

How a DSP buys native impressions

OpenRTB bid requests describe a native slot as a list of assets, and each asset object in OpenRTB Native 1.2 holds one element, such as a title, an image or a data field, with its own ID. A DSP such as StackAdapt answers with a matching set of assets, and the IDs map each part back to its place in the slot. The publisher's template then renders the ad. One native campaign can therefore run on many differently designed sites without a separate creative for each.

Keyword-level native ad delivery

Keyword-level delivery means your native ad shows only on pages where chosen keywords appear. For StackAdapt, the DSP next to these ad networks, keyword-level native ad delivery runs through Keyword Rule Targeting. You enter keywords and phrases, set rules for how they must appear and add exclusions, and the rules apply to native, display and video campaigns, in apps and on the web.

Top ad networks for native search placements are a separate market. Among these five platforms, the closest equivalent is StackAdapt's ChatGPT Ads channel, where the April 2026 pilot carried a $50,000 minimum that StackAdapt dropped in May, after opening self-serve to the broader market (Adweek). The OpenRTB Native 1.2 spec explains the gap: its four native placement types (in the feed, inside the content, outside the core content, recommendation widget) include no search results page.

Creative Assets That Native Ad Networks and DSPs Request

Six assets from the OpenRTB Native 1.2 specification, revised by IAB Tech Lab in March 2017, form the creative set I would prepare before any native launch. With all six ready, a DSP or an RTB-connected network can answer requests that a partial set would miss.

AssetSpec field and status in OpenRTB Native 1.2What to prepare
HeadlineTitle object, its length set by each bid requestThree versions: 25, 90 and 140 characters
Brand nameData asset type 1, sponsored, which carries the brand name and is requiredUp to 25 characters
DescriptionData asset type 2, desc, recommended by the specUp to 140 characters
Button textData asset type 12, ctatext, optional in the specUp to 15 characters
IconImage asset type 1, optional, square aspect ratio of 1:1At least 50 px high
Main imageImage asset type 3, one of two size variants required1198x627, 836x627 and 627x627

Main images decide which requests you can answer. A slot asking for 4:3 (836x627) cannot take a 1.91:1 file (1198x627), so supply 1:1, 4:3 and 1.91:1 versions of every visual. The spec reserves that sponsored field for the sponsor's brand name, so write it exactly as readers should see it. In apps, a publisher SDK renders this same asset set.

Native In-App Advertising

Native in-app advertising reaches apps through an SDK on the publisher side and through programmatic bids on the buy side. StackAdapt lists mobile in-app among its native formats and runs Keyword Rule Targeting inside apps. The MGID publisher page covers mobile-web widgets and AMP pages but no app SDK. AdsCompass sells in-app inventory of a different kind: Telegram Rewarded Post (CPM floor $0.01) and Telegram Rewarded Video ($0.1) run inside Telegram, though they are rewarded formats rather than native units.

native in-app advertising

Taboola documents the publisher side in detail. Its Mobile SDK 4 covers Android and iOS in classic and web integrations and adds plugins for Flutter and React Native, and Taboola last updated that documentation in October 2026.

Best Native Ad Networks for Publishers

AdsCompass and Outbrain are the easiest native ad networks for publishers to join here: Outbrain says it works with sites of any scale, and AdsCompass lists no traffic minimum. MGID asks for 5,000 unique daily visitors, and StackAdapt, a DSP, buys inventory instead of signing up publishers.

native ad network

Publishers on AdsCompass can run push, in-page, native, banner and video formats on traffic from 200+ countries and withdraw from $50 under section 7.3.4 of the Terms. Payouts go out by Capitalist, Stripe, PayPal, WebMoney, Paxum or crypto. Section 7.3.3 caps payment processing at 30 business days. Under section 7.3.1, AdsCompass can adjust earlier statistics after retrospective fraud filtering, so do not count a month's revenue as final too early.

Approval at MGID needs 5,000 unique daily visitors. MGID also wants at least 30 articles and original, non-adult content. Taboola runs on a JavaScript tag placed below the article and shares revenue from clicks on paid recommendations, and its publisher onboarding page names no traffic or payout threshold. Outbrain accepts sites that follow its Publisher Guidelines, and Teads, the company behind Outbrain, partners directly with more than 10,000 publishers.

Native ad networks for small publishers

Small publishers under 5,000 daily visitors can apply to AdsCompass or Outbrain today. MGID opens to them at 5,000. Among the best native advertising networks for a small site, AdsCompass and Outbrain share a $50 payout threshold, and Outbrain sends a payment only once a month's revenue reaches it.

How These Native Ad Networks Were Ordered

Entry cost puts AdsCompass first, and the other four are not ranked against each other, because their minimums mix deposits, daily budgets and monthly spend. Read this as a working shortlist rather than a ranking of top-rated native ad networks. The review methodology lists every property behind this order and the evidence each one rests on.

native advertising networks

Reach played no part in sorting these best native advertising platforms. A list of native ad networks sorted by reach puts the largest audience first, even when a buyer cannot afford enough clicks to judge a single source. AdsCompass leads here because of its $50 deposit and the free Traffic Calculator.

Every platform figure above comes from that platform's own terms, help center or plans page, read on 22 October 2026, unless the sentence names another source, as the editorial policy requires. AdsCompass updated its Terms on 30 September 2026. Taboola revised its budget guide on 23 July 2026. Treat any top native advertising networks 2026 list, this one included, as accurate only on its check date. Send corrections through the contact page.

Beyond the Terms, AdsCompass explains its platform in three places: the homepage of this native advertising network lists all eight ad formats and 200+ GEOs. The AdsCompass blog walks through real-time bidding, push traffic and popunder setups, and a separate AdsCompass page covers native ads as a format on the platform.
